UBilaal wazalelwa e-Abyssinia — iEthiopia yanamhlanje — kumama ogama linguHamamah, owayeziswe eArabia njengekhoboka. Wakhulela kubukhoboka, ephethwe nguUmayyah ibn Khalaf, omnye wezona zilo zinamandla nezinobutshaba be-Islam yakuqala. Ngokomlinganiselo wehlabathi, uBilaal wayengenasikhundla, engenamvelaphi, engenamandla.
Kodwa saza safika kuye isimemo se-Islam.
Xa uBilaal wamkela umyalezo woMprofeti uMuhammad ﷺ, wakwenza oko esazi iziphumo. Ukuguquka kwakhe kwakungekhona nje isigqibo sobuqu sokomoya — kwakusisivakaliso ngokuchasene nayo kanye inkqubo eyayimkhotyokisile, ingqiniso yokuba akukho mntu unokuwuphatha ngokwenene umphefumlo womnye.
Aḥad… Aḥad: Igama Elalingenakuthuliswa
Isohlwayo esalandelayo sasinobundlobongela. UUmayyah ibn Khalaf wayeye arhuqe uBilaal kubushushu obutshisayo bentlango yaseMakkah, amhlube, amlalise entlabathini etshisayo, aze abeke amatye anzima esifubeni sakhe — efuna ukuba alahle ukholo lwakhe aze abuyele ekunquleni izithixo. Kodwa impendulo kaBilaal ayizange itshintshe. Igama elinye, liphefumlelwa phantsi kobunzima bamatye:
"Aḥad… Aḥad…" — "Mnye… Mnye…"
Wayengqina uBunye buka-Allah ngeyona ndlela ithe ngqo: ngomzimba wakhe, ngomphefumlo wakhe, nangegazi lakhe. UMprofeti ﷺ kamva wayeya kutsho ngokuzimasa okunjalo:
"Owona jihad ubalaseleyo ligama lenyaniso elithethwa phambi komlawuli ozwilakhe."
(Sunan Abu Dawud, 4344; Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 2174)
UBilaal wathetha elo gama kungekhona kumlawuli kodwa phantsi kwelitye lomlawuli — kwaye akazange ayeke ukulitsho.
YayinguAbu Bakr al-Siddiq (wanga uAllah angakholiseka nguye) owathenga inkululeko kaBilaal, ehlawula ngaphezulu kakhulu kwexabiso lakhe ukumkhulula ngenxa ka-Allah kuphela. UMprofeti ﷺ wathi ngoAbu Bakr:
"Akukho butyebi bamntu bundincedileyo njengobutyebi buka-Abu Bakr."

Elokuqala Ilizwi le-Islam: Isimemo Somthandazo
Emva kokufudukela eMadina nokusekwa koluntu lokuqala lwamaSilamsi, kwafika ixesha lokuwisa isigqibo sokuba abantu baya kubizwa njani emthandazweni. Kwaxoxwa iziphakamiso ezahlukeneyo. Waza uMprofeti ﷺ wenza ukhetho olwaluza kuvakala kuyo yonke imbali: wamisela uBilaal — ikhoboka lomAfrika elikhululiweyo — njengowokuqala muezzin we-Islam.
UBilaal wakhwela kwelona ngqameko liphezulu likhoyo waza wavumela ilizwi lakhe ukuba lidlule kuyo yonke iMadina okokuqala:
"Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar — UAllah ngoyena Mkhulu, uAllah ngoyena Mkhulu…"
Kuluntu olwaluchazwa buhlanga nokwahlukana kobuhlanga, esi yayisisivakaliso esinzulu. Ilizwi elalibiza uluntu eNkosini yalo lalingelolizwi lenkosi yomArabhu — lalililizwi lendoda evela e-Afrika eyayithuthunjelwe ngenxa yokholo lwayo. Umyalezo wawungenakucaca ngakumbi. UAllah uqinisekisa lo mgaqo kwiNcwadi yaKhe:
"Owu bantu, inene sinidalile ukusuka kwindoda nakumfazi saza sanenza izizwe nezindlu ukuze naziwane. Inene, oyena unesidima phakathi kwenu emehlweni ka-Allah ngoyena ulungileyo phakathi kwenu."
(Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:13)
Kwi-Islam, umlinganiselo womntu bubudlelwane bakhe no-Allah — kungekhona imvelaphi yakhe, umbala, okanye isikhundla sakhe eluntwini.
Isandi Seembadada EPaladesi
Phakathi kwezona zenzeko zichukumisayo kubomi bukaBilaal koko uMprofeti ﷺ akutyhila kuye ngenye intsasa emva komthandazo weFajr. Wathi ﷺ:
"Owu Bilaal, ndixelele ngesona senzo unethemba ngaso osenzileyo kwi-Islam, kuba ndeva isandi seembadada zakho phambi kwam ePaladesi."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, 1149; Sahih Muslim, 2458)
UBilaal, ngokuthobeka kolowo uyayazi ngokwenene iNkosi yakhe, waphendula ukuba isenzo awayenethemba elikhulu ngaso yayisesi: ukuba nanini na esenza i-wudu — nangaliphi na ilixa lemini okanye lobusuku — wayeye alandelise ngerak'ah ezimbini zomthandazo. Isenzo esilula, esiqhubekayo sokuzinikela. Akukho zenzo zinkulu, akukho mboniso ungaqhelekanga — kukubakho nokuqhubeka phambi ko-Allah kuphela.
Le yi-Sunnah kaBilaal: iirak'ah ezimbini emva kokuhlamba ngakunye, egcinwa ubomi bonke. Kwaye oku kwakwanele ukubeka amanyathelo akhe ePaladesi phambi koMprofeti ﷺ ngokwakhe.
Ukuma Phezu Kwe-Ka'bah
Ngemini uMakkah waloywayo — kanye isixeko apho uBilaal wayerhuqwe kwintlabathi etshisayo — uMprofeti ﷺ wamyalela ukuba akhwele phezu kophahla lweKa'bah aze enze isimemo somthandazo. Wema kwelona ngqameko liphezulu lendlu engcwele emhlabeni waza wabiza uAllah esixekweni esasizame ukumtshabalalisa.
Yayilixesha lomfuziselo omangalisayo. Indoda eyayityumzwe phantsi kwamatye anzima ngoku yayimi ngaphezu kwawo. Ilizwi ababezama ukulithulisa ngoku laliphindaphinda kuyo yonke intili yaseMakkah. IQuran yayisele ithembisile oku:
"Kwaye ngokuqinisekileyo siya kubanika uloyiso abaThunywa bethu nabo bakholelweyo, kubomi beli hlabathi nangeMini apho amangqina aya kuma."
(Surah Ghafir, 40:51)
Ilifa Elingele-Afrika
UBilaal ibn Rabah akangomntu nje wembali — bubungqina obuhlala buhleli bomgaqo wamaSilamsi wokuba ukholo luyaphakamisa. Weza evela e-Afrika. Wayekhotyokisiwe. Wayethuthunjelwe. Kanti, ngenceba ka-Allah nangenyaniso yentliziyo yakhe, waba lelinye lawona maqabane athandekayo oMprofeti ﷺ, enendawo eqinisekisiweyo ePaladesi.
Ibali lakhe lelolutho lwamaSilamsi ase-Afrika ngokukodwa nakubo bonke abakhe babekwa bucala, bacinezelwa, okanye baxelelwa ukuba ilizwi labo alinamsebenzi. Lithi kubo, ngawona mazwi acacileyo: Aḥad — kukho Omnye okubonayo, kwaye akagwebi ngoko ihlabathi ligweba ngako.
Wanga uAllah angakholiseka nguBilaal ibn Rabah, kwaye wanga ilifa lakhe lingaqhubeka likhuthaza sonke isizukulwana samakholwa — e-Afrika nakwihlabathi liphela.
