Who We Are
Bilaal TV is an English-language Islamic television channel for Africa, broadcasting since 2022. We are named for Bilaal ibn Rabah, may Allah be pleased with him — an African who had been enslaved, and the man Prophet Muhammad ﷺ chose to call the first adhan.
Our aim is to help people understand Islam through programming that takes African Muslim communities seriously: their scholars, their history, and the questions they are actually asking.
What We Offer
- Live streaming — watch Bilaal TV online, at any hour
- Islamic programming — talks, lectures, and spiritual content
- Community news — what matters to Muslims in South Africa and beyond
- Education — content made to inform rather than to impress
Our Vision
A community is built on knowledge, connection, and shared values. Every programme we produce is guided by that.
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was neither a Fahish nor a Mutafahhish, and he used to say, "The best among you are the best in character (having good manners)."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6035, Book 78, Hadith 65)
You can watch live at any time, read the Qur'an with translation and recitation, or start with What Is Islam? — and the story behind our name is in Bilaal ibn Rabah.
